RARE 18 C TIBETAN SHRINE

RARE 18 C TIBETAN SHRINE, original polychrome pigments on wood, rectangular with a tri-lobed arch, with ten Buddhas and deities each residing in a niche, originally fitted with a pair of doors. Central part of the Shrine seated four Buddhas in dhyanasana on a lotus base, holding an alms bowl in their left hands and in their right hands in bhumisparsha mudra. On the left side of the Shrine a figure of Buddha, seated in dhyanasana on a lotus base, holding an alms bowl and wearing a sanghati, the tightly coiled hair rising over the ushnisha and topped by a finial, the Buddha figure is above another Buddha figure seated in dhyanasana on a lotus base, with his right hand in vitarka mudra and the left hand holding an alms bowl, underneath deity residing in a niche. On the right side of the Shrine two more Buddha figures, seating in dhyanasana on a lotus base, both holding an alms bowls in their left hands, the fist with his right hand in vitarka mudra, the second with his right hand in bhumisparsha mudra, underneath the two Buddhas a deity residing in a niche.
