A DEHUA MODEL OF A STANDING BODHIDARMA ON WAVES
DEHUA STANDING BODHIDARMA. The figure is modeled standing barefoot on a base adorned with a reed leaf amidst crested waves, dressed in a voluminous robe characterized by heavy folds with his arms holding a cane, rest to his right shoulder. His face is detailed with a protuberant forehead marked by an urna, bushy eyebrows and beard, rounded protruding eyes with a stern expression. The original wooden box having square shape covered in metallic imperial blue silk adorned by auspicious floral motifs threads, with sliding panel lids. Imperial yellow silk with flowers and figs threads wrapped the hard cushion fit perfectly to the figure.
