Extremely Rare Pottery House
Early Western Han dynasty, ca. 2180 years old. Original pigments and colours!!!
Height 23 cm., Wide 39 cm.
Note: Granaries of this type and style are most rare and examples can only be found in Henan Museum, China.
Provenance: old Dutch private collection, acquired in 1980’s, and thence by descent.
– Scientific Report for the house:
A thermoluminescence analysis report issued by Laboratory R. Kotalla, based on sample number 03B150121, sets the firing date of all three (3) samples taken at 2180 years ago. A copy of the report, issued by Lab. Kotalla, is accompanying this lot. TL test.
– Extra test: Pre-dose test has been done: Pre-dose test confirms old firing without any kind of artificial x-ray treatments!
Extremely rare pottery house with overhanging gable roof which has a central ridge with lateral rows of round tile covers. There is a door in the middle of the house, to the left side of the door there are round openings which supports symmetrically foursquare openings, three are placed vertical and the other are placed horizontal, the both sides of the house with pillars supported beautifully carved and finely detail windows.

Condition: Three small parts of the roof back side are missing. There are not visible form the front side. Very small repair to the right side back of the roof, only glue with the original piece. This is very normal for such early pottery items (ca. 2180 years old). The house is in a very good condition with the original polychrome.
