A Green-Glazed Red Pottery Tripod Vessel and Cover
Green Glazed Tripod Vessel, the globular body encircled by a central tripod rid below upright curved handles, supported on elegant tripod splayed legs, the domed cover moulded in relief and surmounted by three conical bosses, surrounded by swirling lines and a pointed-leaf pattern band, the interior glazed green.
The shape of this vessel is based on bronze ding prototypes. A number of green-glazed pottery examples, with pairs of crossed fish moulded on the cover were included in the exhibition, Spirit of Han, Ceramics for the After-Life, Southeast Asian Ceramic Society, Singapore, 1991, Catalogue, nos. 110, 111 and 113
